The Division’s biggest game update 1.1 since launch in March went live yesterday, but was accompanied by technical server side problems. Missing characters, recessed Dark Zone Ranks and connection problems were the consequences. Besides that, the new content seems to be fresh, the Incursion Falcon Lost challenging and The Division’s item drops and crafting changes not that bad at all.

Operation ISAC will from now on provide us with new Weekly Assignments every Tuesday. Simon, the guy in the video you will probably want to see afterwards is a technician working with The Division. PS: Also don’t forget about the new Daily Assignments (Combat, Crafting, Dark Zone).
Compensation for Missing Dailies
We have received lots of feedback regarding the missing Daily Missions in the last few days. The developers sat together and discussed some sort of compensation which will be given to all players in the upcoming days in form of an unknown amount of the Phoenix Credits endgame currency.
Missing Characters and Dark Zone Rank
While the recessed Dark Zone Rank of 1 is just a visual bug in the game’s UI and doesn’t affect your real rank, some of the players out there might experience serious problems with having no character to play with. The good thing is that all the missing characters are still there. The developers were able to identify the source of the problem in the last 24 hours and are already working on a fix that will hopefully resolve it. This was confirmed by the The Division Team in the official forums a few hours ago.
The issue was caused by a malfunctioning server that couldn’t synchronize character data correctly and corrupted them instead. The game client was unable to read this corrupted data, and simply assumed that the character didn’t exist. Once this has been identified, we were able to restore the server to its normal functions, thus ensuring that the issue will no longer occur for other players. The Division Team
However, deploying the patch will require another server downtime which has not been announced yet. Although you will be able to create and play with a new character, all affected accounts will be reset entirely with the state it had right before the update deployment on April 12th.
Thankfully at least the backpack/infinite-loading bug was obviously fixed with the latest update.
Loot Trading and Striker’s Battlegear Update
The time-frame of being able to trade loot with other players was reduced from 2 to 1 hour. In addition, the Striker’s Battlegear Gear Set received a slight nerf of its Critical Damage boost from 100% to 50%.
Future Changes
A list of suggestions was already forwarded to the development team and 3 of those will be implemented and available in one of the next updates. The team is currently focusing on
- Toggle Aim-Mode on PC
- Weapon skins will be treated like other vanity items and no longer taking space in your inventory
- Exit the game from the Title screen
