tc-the-division-state-of-the-gameBugs, glitches and cheats are still the most dominant topic when it comes to The Division’s current state of the game, so it was during today’s talk with Community Developer Hamish Bode and Yannick Banchereau, who promise improvement in the future.

Compensation Update

Probably the best thing of this session was the announcement of the time frame for handing out the compensation of 500 Phoenix Credits for people who suffered the backpack/infinite-loading bug, which will happen some day during the next week.

Important Fixes in Work

  • Daily Missions aren’t rotating correctly again
  • Some of the Gear Talents aren’t working as expected at the moment (One is None/Reckless/Balanced). Some of them can be fixed server side, while some require a client-side patch that will most likely come in form of the next content update 1.2 in May.
  • Ever joined a Falcon Lost Incursion and found out that there is no way to play in this game’s session? The developers are also working on this problem. The only way to prevent this from happening is to be the party host – invite others to your game – or log out and in completely.

Cheaters and Netcode

The netcode of the game seems to be in a really bad shape, but also the data that is stored in the RAM and other places is easily accessible and readable by cheat programmers. That’s why teleporting, shooting through walls and speedhacking are just one of the phenomena you might have experienced in the past.

Besides starting to move client side game data and calculations to the server side, the developers want to speak about this topic more detailed in the future.
