After last week’s delay and deployment problems, the Challenge Mode for The Division’s second Incursion Clear Sky will be unlocked and playable after tomorrow’s weekly maintenance. Besides a few other bugfixes, no game changes will be made during the downtime.
As always, the server maintenance starts Thursday, June 9th at 09:00 AM CEST / 03:00 AM EDT / 00:00 AM PDT. Estimated downtime is approximately 3 hours. If you want to time things better or need help with other ingame reset timers, please have a look at our recently revealed reset timers page for the game.
Changelog

- Moved the no-respawn zone at the entrance of Clear Sky to reduce the risk of players mistakenly entering the Instance before the group was formed
- Activated Clear Sky Challenge Mode
Critical Hit Chance Nerf
You might have already read about it or have noticed it by yourself, the Critical Hit Chance Softcap of 60% is now a Hardcap. This change was introduced with the latest patch 1.2, but actually not listed in the official patch notes. Shit happens and we just want to inform you about what it means, based on MarcoStyle’s video, which you can also watch below.
Before the update, players were able to optimize their Crit. Chance so that way higher percentages than 60% were easily achievable by using skills like Pulse or Smart Cover. However, this possibility is gone now as the game will cap its attribute value by a maximum of 60%.
Example: In case your gear and weapon together already grant you a Critical Hit Chance of 50%, a high Electronics Pulse with an increase of 40% will actually just give you 10% more (60% (Hardcap) – 50% (Gear)) and the other 30% are lost in nowhere.
This change was also confirmed yesterday by Community Developer Yannick Banchereau in the /r/thedivision subreddit, who apologized for their internal miscommunication.
Hi there,
The video is correct and I can confirm that the change is intended.
However, the fact that it was missing from the Patch Notes is clearly a mistake and we’re looking at how we can improve our process internally so this doesn’t happen again.

By making the Softcap to a Hardcap, players might have to rethink some of their build strategies to not only focus on the Crit. Chance stat by using aforementioned skills. Also Assault Rifles and other weapons could get stronger because of this change as you don’t necessarily have to rely on the SMG’s additional 20%+ Crit. Chance anymore.
