tc-the-division-state-of-the-gameLoot drops and Dark Zone changes will play a major role in May’s upcoming update 1.2 called “Conflict”, which not only brings a new Incursion you might have already seen in the North of your Mega Map, but also lots of long awaited improvements to the game itself. Find out more about the State of the Game talk from May 4th in the summary below.

May Update Status

The next update is currently in the testing phase, that’s why no final release date has been announced yet. The developers want to make sure to not make the same mistakes as with the previous update and to deliver the best experience possible.

New Dark Zone Bracket

One of the bigger changes will be the introduction of a 3rd Dark Zone Bracket for players with a Gear Score higher than 200. This bracket features

  • NPCs with level 32 to 34
  • 204 and 240 Gear Score items
  • Only High-End and increased amount of Division Tech drops

“Generous” Loot System

The current loot system is not really rewarding unless you play one Falcon Lost Incursion on Challenging after the other one. That can be funny, but also a bit frustrating as there are no real other ways to obtain better gear.

In addition, this situation makes it hard to compete against higher geared agents in the Dark Zone. To resolve this issue, loot drops will be more generous across the board with the quantity and quality of High-End items. At the moment, crafting and weekly Blueprint restocks seem still to be the last resort and hope for the majority of agents.

But not only higher geared people will benefit from the new changes. Everybody should be able to climb that “bracket ladder” from the lowest one (< GS 160) to the highest one. The following changes can be expected to be implemented with the next update.

  • Better and more weapon drops
  • Better rewards for Hard and Challenging missions as well as Incursions
  • Better loot in all 3 Dark Zone Brackets
  • More valuable loot from Supply Drops
  • Increase of Gear Set drops

Buffs Instead of Nerfs

Balancing also plays a huge role the upcoming update, considering the PvP and PvE mode as well as the combination of both. While no further details about it have been revealed, the idea behind it is to only buff weaker parts/weapons and their talents instead of nerfing problematic items into the ground.

Speaking about the “Balanced” Weapon Talent in particular, it is not a nerf that will hit this Talent, but more a bugfix as it is not working as intended. Currently, the weapon accuracy buff stays intact after the first shouldering. However, the accuracy buff should only be granted when sholdering it the first time and should go away when taking your first shot. Bolt-action rifles like the M44 could probably be more powerful then than its counterpart, the M1A.

Bugfixes

Punishing cheaters and exploiters is one thing to improve the player experience, but delivering a bug free game also. That’s why bugfixing is still the top priority on their task list.

Besides fixing the well-known and powerful Gear Talents Reckless, Balanced and One is None, also the annoying “Mission doors not opening” bug and story stoppers like non-activating Base of Operations Wings will be addressed. The amount of fixed bugs will be huge as most of them require a client patch and have been collected since update 1.1.
