With the recently announced and first claimable Season Pass Supply Drop in Tom Clancy’s The Division it might be interesting to note that these drops are bound to your characters rather than to your account, which allows you to get these care packages up to a maximum of 4 times per event. But there are more advantages you can gain from having more than 1 fully-leveled agent available.

Feeling the Progress
First of all, having fun while leveling is the most important thing! Playing through the Story- and Side Missions one, two or three more times with an alternate character as well as finding new items to improve it can be really satisfying and sometimes you probably miss that kind of feeling on higher levels or when you are already well geared with your main.
Although clearing the Encounters for setting up the Wings in your Base of Operations is a bit monotonous at the end, you should definitely consider doing that to get access to the whole pool of Skills, Talents and Perks – not to forget about the Signature Skill.
Unfortunately, levels like the one of your character, Dark Zone Rank and Underground Rank are not shared across your chars. At this point, something like a Prestige system with additional rewards or rank awards would be really cool. However it’s also a plus factor in some way. At DZ Rank 99 or UG Rank 40 you will not really see any more progression in regard to your XP, which why it’s also great to see at least some form of progress – XP wise – when the bars in the upper right corner are moving up a bit.
Muling
Your characters will have access to a shared pool of Phoenix Credits (max. 2000) and the items in your Stash. That way you could theoretically also gain more Division Credits by selling items from your Stash (Gear Set items recommended) for an easy start with a new alt.
Moreover if you are known for hoarding items or skins (like I’m), you could easily increase the overall Stash size this way with around 330 available item slots in total, considering that every character could carry around 65 items and you have maxed out your Stash through the Base of Operations (70 items).
Mission Rewards
Mission Rewards, including Daily Missions, Incursions and High-Value Targets, can also be obtained multiple times by completing a mission with each of your characters.
Same goes for the valuable Underground Caches you earn when ranking up in the Underground. In terms of Daily Missions, this means a bunch of more Phoenix Credits, for Incursions and HVTs more Gear Set items as part of the Daily and Weekly Rewards.
- Daily Missions Rewards: 80 Phoenix Credits (4 characters * 20) and Crafting Materials
- Incursions Weekly Rewards: 4 Gear Set items (4 characters * 1 Gear Set item) per difficulty
Gearing Up Faster
Improving and completing builds is much more easier and a lot faster if you can collect aforementioned Weekly Rewards up to 4 times. Imagine that you will be rewarded with at least 8 guaranteed Gear Set (GS 268) items in just four runs (4 characters) on one difficulty mode. You could then also play the Incursions on Challenging if you really want to be one of the first to call a new Gear Set yours for some 240 GS items. However, this method doesn’t apply for Gear Sets that primarily drop in the Dark Zone.
Being able to store numerous variants of certain pieces with different Primary Stats & Major-, Minor- and Skill Attributes also increases your build diversity and allows you to easily switch to other combinations or gear recalibrations.
Season Pass Supply Drops
Supply Drops outside the Dark Zone are the exclusive monthly special events for owners of the Season Pass. At the moment, 2 of these drops will be available per month, also presenting you with the best loot in the game. As mentioned in the introduction before, you can get the loot of these dropped crates up to 4 times per event. For more information about them, please head over to our FAQs section.
Drawbacks
Although the character system grants you a lot more freedom in terms of loot, there are also a few drawbacks we would like to address in form of a short list.
- Most of the in-game currencies like Division Credits, DZ Funds, Target Intel or Directive Intel are not shared, except for Phoenix Credits.
- Blueprints and Crafting Materials have to be acquired separately.
- Without a loadout-system, it could take you a while to move gear between your characters, unless you are actually planning on creating other builds for them (then you can forget about this point)!
- Some activities like Incursions have to be completed on Hard again before you can play them on higher difficulties.
